We warmly invite you to the opening of Ritva Määttänen-Valkama's exhibition, "Tintin's Mother and Other Fictional Characters from Imaginary Novels," on Thursday, December 4th, from 5 to 7 pm. The exhibition will be on display at Arabianranta Library until January 31st, 2026.



 

“I think of library as a place where you can experience the life in it´s widest sense. Books are full of stories waiting to be encountered and imagined. My paintings are kind of associations and thinking of these characters guided by my brush strokes." - Ritva Määttänen-Valkama

The Arabianranta Library, which serves as the exhibition venue, is located at Hämeentie 135 A, 00560 Helsinki. 

The Helsinki Artists’ Association has provided its member artists with a new free exhibition space at the Arabianranta Library since May 2022. Exhibition periods are offered flexibly, lasting two months each, allowing for 6 to 7 exhibitions per year. These exhibition slots will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
